Porting Project Help Section up and running

Postby Edvard on 05 Nov 2009, 17:21

I wanted to create a section where users could go and get answers to most commonly asked questions regarding Android on their HTC Touch Pro’s and Diamonds. The problem is that I ended up with many small sections (forum posts, articles, etc) which eventually became outdated or obsolete, making them basically do more damage than good.

So I decided to develop a smart, centralized system where I keep information up to date and where new (and existing) users can get answers to all they need to know regarding the porting project. Its now up and running and you can access it using the button on the top menu on Connect-UTB.com. It includes help on how to determine the device model, hardware configurations, startup.txts (still working on getting all of them), installation instructions, and much more.

I am still researching and adding content, and if you have suggestions, feedback or comments, please let me know. Hope this will help users get started more easily.

Edvard,

I was just looking at the porting page, and I noticed a discrepancy for msmts_calib in the Hardware Configuration and Startup.txt sections for the RAPH800. In the HW config section, it has 0x81.0x393.0x358.0x7D (which I believe is correct - i.e. what I used to get it to work), however in the Startup section it has 0x7a.0x5e.0x35a.0x37f.
